2 weeks at 1,000 MPH part 6

March 7, 2012

So the cover is coming along pretty good, another night and a half I’d imagine but it must be done by Thursday in order to get the Sassy Lassy Brit desert pin-up finished for Sunday just in time for my deadline so tonight is definitely make or break. Here’s an in progress shot of the larger front cover portion of the piece, the modeling of the under-painting is doing it’s thing showing through the semi modeled color layer along with the transparent texture layers to give it a grittier and grainier dirty look. So I guess we’ll see what we have tomorrow and I’ll post up another in progress hopefully as close to a finish as possible with probably a little bit of opacity tweaks left to go.

The thing I hate most about this is that it’s better than anything I’ve ever done in my life.

That’s not true man, maybe to look at this thing it hits home for some, but your ideas and your writing is top notch fella. I still laugh at the subtlety and shear story telling that you were able to accomplish in 1 page for those Magic Bullet comics.
