Kilroy was here, but he’s gone now

December 17, 2011

So back in like February or March i started working on character concepts, sprite sheets, ground plane tiles, and collision assets for a proposed FUBAR video game app that would be based on the Kilroy Was Here story from FUBAR European Theater of the Damned that would be available for apple and android and all the principle character animation, in game cut scenes and in game programming would be done in one 24 period from Friday evening to Saturday evening. I wanted to give the look of the game a complete departure from anything I had personally done or the brand had ever done and I don’t think I ever posted these assets or tile sheets and the game really never used alot of the work to it’s fullest intentions and sort of fell off in the end and never saw complete development, but here are just a few little fun snippets from the preplanning stages, if i had the rest of the rest of the finished assets in my possession i’d post them as well because there were some really cool halftracks and ww2 fighters but they are on some server somewhere.

NO he’s not! Still going strong. We have Sightings from the Gulf War, Afghanistan, Iraq and all wars before. Kilroy was and is the GIs best friend!

I gotcha, it was not meant to be insensitive I know all about the real world incarnations of Kilroy, the post was titled that though because the game that those designs were from was called Kilroy Was Here, it was about a character in FUBAR: European Theater of the Damned called Sgt. Kilroy. and he was the main playable character. However since starting the game it’s been decided were were going to follow a different direction with it, thus the …but he’s not anymore part.
