THE FICTORY
So last year I go to this New Years Eve party that I was invited to originally only intending to stop for a few minutes before rolling on to other ventures, but I run into Jeff McComsey and Dominic “The Dominator” Vivona who I hadn’t seen in probably six months or so. I end up deciding to stick around for the remainder of the night as we chew the fat putting away cocktails and the like talking shop in a smoke filled garage. We start talking about this client that we all shared who ended up giving us all a screw-job of an assignment that never saw funding or the light of day, something that sometimes comes with the territory. After awhile they both begin telling me about this animation studio that they’ve been working with in the center of Lancaster that’s doing some new cool cutting edge shit and that even with their new interns they have a project in the works that needs more bodies in order to maintain an even slightly reasonable time line of completion. We talk about me possibly coming on staff to moonlight or freelance a few aspects of the project that I could try my hand at and after showing my portfolio and having a sit down the following weekend, I end up redesigning the main antagonist of their current project and have been at The Fictory ever since working diligently generating backgrounds and assets on Atomic Robo: Last Stop.
