Got a big project in the works, should be pretty cool but right now it’s still a secret, so I’ve got to keep it very hush hush and on the DL. There’s 3 individual facets that I am personally responsible for as my contribution to the whole so that this thing can become Voltron and rain down fuckin destruction. I have about a week and a half tops to finish up my share all inked and colored so we’re all gonna see what life at a 1,000 miles per hour will look like for the next 2 weeks.  The images above are 3 pre-inked pencil sketches from 1 image that I am piecing together and another off page product set that’s being cultivated in support of the other piece. You’ll all be the first to know when the word can be spread, until then it’s process posts until i get to the finish.

This here’s a little Temple Of Doom Mola Ram burning heart action, just a little hoosawatsit I did this morning as a fast and furious quick piece. Got the idea last night and I kinda thought it would be funny for my girlfriend April for Valentine’s Day, she’s got a blog too, full of all kinds of cool stuff, stop on by and take a look see. Anyway, I have a couple of other Mola Ram pieces penciled up and maybe one of these days I’ll be able to get around to them and spend a little more time on the finish but for now it’s sleep then back to work on a few commissions for the week.

So I did a new target because it felt real timely for today, and with that in mind who’s excited for the Walking Dead on TV tonight? Zombies and comics these days are like peanut butter and jelly and if it wasn’t for the Walking Dead being so  successful as a comic and then as a crossover into mainstream culture with the television show there probably wouldn’t be and space on the shelves for FUBAR no matter how small, so we owe a lot of our recent successes to their trail blazing efforts.  Lately, a whole lot of Walking Dead comics news buzzing around the internet, and here’s how I’m going to weigh in on that matter, both those guys grew up in the same tiny town in Kentucky and instead of working at the local Post-It Note factory, they pulled together made some real comics and in my eyes, fuckin’ went out and won the game. So hopefully Tony Moore and Robert Kirkman can do what it takes to patch-up their partnership and get it all back in line to keep this comic book industry strong, because that’s the part that matters to me. I’ll think about all that while I’m watching tonight, Walking Dead’s at 9pm Eastern Time everybody.

Never really got around to finishing up all the targets I had designed for FUBAR2 and there’s a few Pacific themed targets left to go that I’ve been getting back to when the time presents itself. This is one of those cases as I wanted to have the Geisha target finished for when we did our roll-out at the Baltimore Comic Con just to have a little more variety and diversity since the Nurse is so popular with the crowds. Anyway here she is in her horrific Imperial zombie glory. Hopefully I’ll have the 2 other that I’ve inked up ready with callouts by the end of the weekend, one of them is very timely for Sunday.

So I’ve known Ben Truman since college and Tim Truman slightly longer than that, and they are good guys, the type of down-right genuine good guys that people tell stories and speak volumes about, but Kitchell Hawken is a fuckin bad dude and that’s awesome! So when they asked if I wanted to help out on a special edition variant cover for the 6th issue of of their Hawken miniseries I said goddamn goddamn, count me in, and promptly went to work. Ben and Tim worked with Jeff McComsey and myself on the FUBAR 2 story Semper Fi so to be able to return the favor in kind and lend my pens to their book was pretty cool. So Jeff did a basic layout, Dominic Vivona laid down the lead, I did all the finished inks and then Jeff colored it all up for the final piece. So this book is being published through IDW and is in Previews Magazine this month and is available for pre-order til the end of February, the series is great I’ve got personal copies of everything that’s out and I’m telling you its real baddass stuff so if you dig on good westerns get to your local comic shop and ask for HAWKEN.

Hey everyone finished that facebook promo I was working on for the FUBAR page, worked out pretty well and got a lot of people to stop on by and click the like button. Been doing a lot of internet housekeeping making sure links are still where they should be and the right people are getting the right credit where it matters, you know the little stuff that you put off until all of a sudden you have a weeks worth of shit to do because you’ve been putting it off. Well now its onward and upward to bigger and more productive things.

So FUBAR has a Facebook page and has for a while now, but unfortunately it really doesn’t seem like all that many people know about and since I can’t send friend requests out from the page than I’ve got to get a piece together to promote people coming to us. So this is the under-painting for an upcoming Find FUBAR on Facebook promotional piece. Hopefully I can lay the color in tonight we’ll see if I cant have it done by tomorrow.
